Impel Achieves SOC 2 Type 1 Certification

Third-Party Audit Validates Compliance with the Global Industry Standard for Data Security

NEW YORK, New York, September 26, 2022 — Impel, the leading global automotive digital engagement platform provider, today announced that it has successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type I audit. Conducted by Marcum LLP, a leading global advisory firm, the audit confirms Impel’s effectiveness and the high degree of security and availability of information security practices, policies, procedures, and operations.

As vehicle retailers, online marketplaces, and OEMs increasingly rely on third-party vendors to execute and safeguard core business operations, the need for confidence and transparency in partner processes and security protocols continues to grow. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) developed SOC 2 to assess and certify company standards for information security controls.

The completed SOC 2 Type 1 audit certifies that Impel’s internal controls meet or exceed strict measures of information security in areas including organization and management, monitoring, communications, and risk management, as established by the AICPA. The certification was awarded after a rigorous review of the availability, security, and integrity of the systems Impel uses to process and manage customer data. This independent validation of security controls is crucial for software vendors serving automotive and specialty vehicle manufacturers and retailers.

“Information security and data privacy have always been a strategic priority for us, since vehicle manufacturers, online marketplaces, and dealers rely on Impel to deliver highly personalized experiences throughout the customer lifecycle,” said Steve Saporta, Chief Technology Officer at Impel. “Since the beginning, we’ve invested in systems and processes designed to protect the data we manage on behalf of our clients and consumers. Combined with our efforts to ensure consumer accessibility and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), our completed SOC 2 audit reinforces our standing as the industry’s only enterprise-grade Digital Engagement platform. We’re excited to be recognized with this important certification so that our customers can continue to be confident in our ability to provide the highest levels of security and privacy across our entire organization.”
