Digital Dealer Panel: Lessons from the Frontline

After the pandemic put a pause on tradeshows and in-person networking events for nearly 18 months, the automotive trade show season was back in full swing in the latter half of 2021. The Impel team attended shows like GIE+EXPO, CAT Used Equipment Managers Meeting, NIADA, and most recently Digital Dealer in Las Vegas.

The bi-annual event is great no matter the location, but there’s just something about Las Vegas that makes the expo hall overflow with excitement. While plenty of education, relationship building and networking happens in the expo hall, the real wealth of knowledge is always found in the meeting rooms. Every day was loaded with panels, keynotes and learning sessions led by the best in the industry with two main topics in mind: effectively navigating the current state of the industry and learning how to harness the latest technologies now available to automotive retailers.

In particular, digital merchandising and conversational AI platforms are emerging as critical investment areas for the automotive industry in the face of continued disruption and changing consumer behavior. With this in mind, Impel’s VP of Enterprise Sales, Arthur Dessein, moderated a panel alongside industry leaders “Big” Al Gillespie, Gray Scott and Casey Sicher-Ford. The discussion explored how conversational AI and other digital technology can enhance sales performance. Access the most powerful insights from the discussion below.
