To commemorate the closing of the acquisition, Devin Daly (Impel CEO and Co-Founder), and Britt DeJohn ( Senior Director – Product Operations) recently traveled to Tbilisi, Georgia, the nation’s capital and home to Pulsar AI’s headquarters. After a warm welcome from Dachi Choladze (Pulsar CEO & Co-Founder) and the Pulsar team, both companies discussed business and organizational insights and plans.

This transaction is also historic for the country of Georgia as it represents the first foreign acquisition of a tech company in the country’s history. Pulsar AI was also the first tech company to attract international funding in Georgia and was also among the first to receive support from Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), part of a Georgian effort to develop the nation’s tech innovation base.

H.E. Irakli Gharibashvili, Georgia’s Prime Minister, commented, “today we are witnessing the result of a successful innovation reform. Georgian startup Pulsar AI crossed the borders and oceans, fulfilling every startup’s dream! Our government’s vision of building a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy was institutionalized in 2014 by creating Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA). We are extremely happy that in this short period of time, a technology ecosystem has rapidly emerged. I would like to congratulate the whole Pulsar AI team for their amazing achievement. It is a clear demonstration that Georgia is making excellent progress in creating and nurturing globally scalable startups.”

During the ceremony and subsequent celebrations, Devin and Britt had ample opportunities to immerse themselves in Georgian history, culture and food, courtesy of the Pulsar AI team!
