Impel Employee Spotlight: Pejmon Kayvon

Pejmon Kayvon employee spotlight

Impel’s Employee Spotlight Series highlights one of our incredible teammates each month, giving you an authentic and behind-the-scenes look at our culture. Team Impel is comprised of musicians, foodies, avid animal lovers, athletes, and more, and their passion, energy, and grit are what make Impel successful. This month we’re introducing you to Pejmon Kayvon, Product Operations Manager.

What is your role at Impel? What are a few of your core duties?

I am the Product Operations Manager. A few of my core duties are:

  • GTM (Go-to-Market), product launches/releases, and product training
  • Leveraging Business & Data Insights to help inform our product strategy
  • Conducting and organizing voice of the customer and market/competitive research
  • Instituting scalable product processes and practices

Which Impel core value resonates with you the most and why?

Honestly, this is a tough question for me because I feel they all have their place and importance to me. However, if I had to choose only one core value, I would have to pick Passion because it is at the heart of success. With Passion comes:

  • The Energy to push past your comfort zone;
  • The Grit for tireless execution;
  • The Relationships needed to build trust that lasts;
  • Inventiveness drives us toward continuous learning and innovation; and
  • The Result of achieving success.

What about your role/teammates inspires you the most and why?

The grit the product team shows on a daily basis is very inspiring to me. With the ever-changing and demanding environment of an innovative SaaS company, the team is still able to remain agile while delivering results every step of the way.

How do you define success?

Success to me is finding the perfect balance of doing what you love and what you’re good at. It’s at those crossroads that success is achieved.

What is the best career lesson you have learned so far?

There’s always something new to learn. Every day is a new opportunity to learn and grow as long as you keep pushing forward and are open-minded.

What are you currently reading or watching? Do you have any recommendations?

I don’t watch too much TV as I like to always be active and outdoors and am not currently reading any books. However, I would say my favorite show of all time is Peaky Blinders. Aside from the amazing acting, the storyline is what makes me love this show so much. The fact that the main character started out with nothing, yet built an empire against all odds is very inspiring and motivational to me.

Tell us three things most people at work don’t know about you:

  1. I was class president several times in school
  2. I grew up doing MMA since I could remember
  3. I was in a bad car accident in high school and am lucky to be alive

Tell us the three words your friends would use to describe you:

  1. Dependable
  2. Determined
  3. Ingenious

What do you like to do on your days off?

I love to be outdoors and active. Whether I’m working on a new project for my house, going for a ride on my motorcycle, or playing some basketball or tennis with friends.

What topic could you give an hour-long presentation on with little to no preparation?

An hour is a long time, but I guess it would be about taking control of your life and not leaving it in the hands of others in an uncertain world.

What is one thing you can’t live without and why?

Freedom. The thought of not being able to decide what direction my life goes in and not being in control of my own success would scare me.
