Impel Names Storm Chaser Award Winners

At Impel, our people are our greatest asset. We love to celebrate one another, our company, and our successes. Most of all, we prize the shared values and culture that power our family and our collective success. This year, we introduced a new recognition program: The Storm Chaser Award. Peers have the opportunity to nominate colleagues for embodying our core values and actively living them out in everything we do. Storm Chasers help enhance our culture, proactively seek solutions, and affect positive change within the company.

During our recent quarterly update, we announced our incredible nominees and saw both recurring and brand new faces being recognized for work that goes above and beyond. The nominations spoke of each candidate’s character, grit, dedication, and willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure Impel and our people succeed.

We’re excited to announce the winners of Impel’s third-quarter Storm Chaser Award: Britt DeJohn, Philip Lunas, and Tim Wavercak. Check out our winners and the great things their peers had to say about each of them.

Original (20)Britt DeJohn, Director, Product Marketing

“Selfless is the best way to describe her.”

“She is always willing to take on new tasks and help the company in any way she can.”

“Britt is always helpful and shares new information for the betterment of each employee.”

When asked what being a Storm Chaser means to her, Britt said “Storm chasers head toward chaotic, frightening events when others are running away. While not quite as severe, being a storm chaser at work means looking at an intimidating situation, taking a deep breath and bringing order to the chaos. It’s about surveying what’s going on around you, identifying the gaps in process or points of friction, and then executing on problem solving.”

Original (21)Phil Lunas, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

“Phil is literally in the eye of the storm. All. The. Time. It’s where he lives. But just like the eye of the storm, he remains calm and composed even with total chaos and craziness surrounding him.”

“He plays such a vital role in our organization and is always swamped with work (working late nights and weekends, always), but that does not stop him from accepting one-off requests and absorbing the workload to ease it for others.”

“Because of his composed nature and behind-the-scenes work, I think a lot of people don’t realize how significant an impact he has on our organization, but he is one of the best and I don’t know what we’d do without him here!”

When asked what being a Storm Chaser means to him, Phil said “It’s truly an honor to be recoginized as this quarter’s Storm Chaser. My teammates at Impel are so driven, committed, and passionate, and being recognized by my peers is truly an honor. To me, a Storm Chaser means being the anchor, or providing safe harbor to one’s team while we are challenged and need assistance. Our successes and failures are shared as a team, so if I can be the calm or assist in any way, I am eager to do so. Our team is exceptional.”

TimWave-1Tim Wavercak, Senior Customer Success Rep

“Tim is aways curious to learn more, often times reaching out to the support and product teams so that he can best serve our international customers while he is hosting meetings at all hours of the day.”

“He works all hours of the night to help our partners from all over the world. With all of the integration challenges and language barriers, Tim still makes it work and our international clientele is growing at a record pace.”

“Tim has taken his new role ‘by storm.’ He took on the responsibility of his new position and dove in head first.”

When asked what being a Storm Chaser means to him, Tim said “Being a Storm Chaser is a privilege. To know that my team sees me as someone who goes above and beyond is an honor. I would do anything for my team and I know many of them deserve this award as well. I would say everyone in this company is a Storm Chaser and that’s what makes our company and team the best. We make each other successful.”

We could not be more proud of these three Storm Chasers. They embody everything Impel stands for and are wonderful assets to our team! We are excited to continue to reward and recognize employees with this award every quarter throughout the year.
